The Irish Theatrical Diaspora in association with New York University hosted a conference on ‘Irish Theatre in America ' at Glucksman Ireland House on 27-28 April 2006, organised by John P. Harrington. Speakers included Mick Moloney, Christopher Berchild, Claire Gleitman, Deirdre McFeely, Gwen Orel, Peter Kuch, Lucy McDiarmid, Nicholas Grene, Patrick Lonergan, Joan Fitzpatick Dean, John Harrington, Christina Mahony, Belinda McKeon and Joseph Hurley.

- The Irish Theatrical Diaspora in conjunction with The Theatre History Group and The Institute of English Studies (University of London) hosted a conference on the theme Irish Theatre in England on 16 and 17 June 2005, co-directed by Richard Allen Cave (Royal Holloway) and Ben Levitas (Goldsmiths' College). The conference coincided with a major exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, Conquering England, curated by Fintan Cullen and Roy Foster.

- In 2004, the centenary year of the Abbey Theatre, the ITD mounted the Irish Theatre on Tour conference in association with the Royal Irish Academy. John P. Harrington and Richard Cave were keynote speakers, and panel discussions included The Abbey on Tour, Touring Within Ireland, and Touring Outside Ireland. The conference also featured poster presentations.

Irish Theatre in England to be published by Carysfort Press, Dublin, is the volume of essays deriving from the two-day conference organised by Richard Cave and Ben Levitas at the National Portrait Gallery, London, in 2005. After an introduction by the editors, there follow essays by Cathy Leeney, Enrica Cerquoni, Carmen Szarbo, Elizabeth Schafer, Michael McAteer, Jerry Nolan, Peter Kuch, Wallace McDowell, Ben Levitas, Jonathan Statham, Tim Miles and Graham Saunders. An unusual feature of the volume will be a Chronological Table of all Irish Plays Produced in London since 1920, the product of a remarkable period of research by Peter Harris.
